In Static Swarm, I wanted to capture a single moment in time while still allowing the viewer to experience movement. Dragonflies appear suspended above a peaceful landscape, as though time has stopped for just an instant. By layering etched Plexiglass over the painted surface, I explore the relationship between stillness, movement, light, and transparency. As the viewer changes position, the dragonflies seem to shift within the landscape, bringing movement back into a moment that has been frozen. My hope is to encourage viewers to slow down and appreciate those fleeting, beautiful moments that often pass before we have the chance to notice them.
