Cathi Warren: Mixed Media Artist/Painter

Artist Statement

I believe that every viewer brings their own history to the act of experiencing art, and my work seeks to resonate with those personal journeys. By exploring my own narrative through painting and mixed media, I aim to create connections that extend beyond individual experience, inviting viewers to reflect on their own paths and memories.

Biography

Bio – Cathi Warren

2026
I am a mixed media artist and painter who has dedicated the past 26 years to teaching visual arts in Georgia. As the sole visual arts instructor at my high school in Bogart, I have worked to cultivate meaningful artistic experiences that encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking. My dual role as artist and educator deeply informs my practice, grounding my work in storytelling, connection, and the belief that art has the power to transform how we understand ourselves and others.
I am currently pursuing an MFA in Painting through SCAD, I am eager to further refine my technical skills, explore new conceptual approaches, and contribute meaningfully to contemporary discourse in the arts.
This next step in my artistic and academic journey is one of both personal and professional significance. I look forward to engaging with a community of artists who challenge and inspire. I want to embrace the opportunities for growth that an MFA program provides. Through this experience, I hope to become more proficient in my artistic practice, expand my impact as an educator at the college level, and continue to create work that fosters connection, introspection, and dialogue.
Lastly, I would be remiss not to acknowledge the incredible support system that has made this journey possible. My husband, children, and mother have encouraged and supported me every step of the way. I would not be the person—or the artist—I have become without their love, patience, and belief in me.
Sincerely,
Cathi Warren
